About the Role

The Company is seeking a Director of Legal to join their dynamic, remote-first organization. The successful candidate will be the founding member of the Legal team and will have a wide scope of responsibilities, including but not limited to, preparing, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements. This role requires a JD from an accredited law school, Bar membership in good standing, and a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in legal counsel or a related field, with a strong emphasis on commercial contracts, vendor contracts, and corporate governance. Experience in the SaaS industry is a must, with a preference for those who have worked in mid-to-late-stage startup environments. The Director of Legal will also be expected to research and evaluate risks, provide legal advice on a range of topics, and represent the company in legal proceedings as necessary.The ideal candidate for this role at The Company is a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a desire to take on a hands-on approach. A collaborative working style is essential, as the role involves partnering with senior leaders across the organization and the Sales team. The Director of Legal will play a key role in setting the stage for the growth of the legal function by defining processes and best practices. Strong communication skills and the ability to present legal information clearly and concisely are also required.
