New York Plastic Surgical Group is looking for a full-time Billing Specialist to join our Garden City office.
LOCATION: Garden City/Remote. HYBRID SCHEDULE

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:- Insurance verification for all patient encounters
- Update patient demographics and insurance information into Nextech
- Create TODO's for claims over 10K or any Emergency Claim to ensure timely claim tracking
- Send Non-Par Letters to new patients seen by the practice (hospital or office)
- Analyzing all operative reports and accurately abstract information for coding purposes
- Responsible for updating EMR and Scheduled Not Billed Report to ensure timely claim submission.
- Complete all workers compensation and no-fault forms
- Review and run charge entry reports daily for accuracy
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or be studying for the certification exam.
- College degree preferred, but not required.
- 3+ plus years of medical billing experience for surgical procedures
- Must have working knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT Codes
- Knowledge of Medical Coding
- Efficient in analyzing an operative report.
