The Estimator is a crucial role in BT Construction s Estimating and Preconstruction division and after a recent hire, we are looking to bring in another member to our growing team. As you step into this position you will become part of a tightly-knit group within an expanding department. Reporting to the Senior Estimators and Director of Estimating & Business Development, you will be tasked with supporting and leading bid efforts as well as eventually mentoring other members of staff. You will also receive dedicated training and have the opportunity for future career progression within the business.

We specialize in water, sanitary, and storm sewer utility construction and relocation & mechanical facilities construction. In addition to excellence in traditional pipeline installations, our trenchless division, BTrenchless, Inc. offers expertise in the following trenchless technologies: Microtunneling (MTBM), Tunnel Boring (TBM), Auger Boring & Guided Boring (GBM), Pipe Ramming, Pipe Jacking, Pipe Bursting/Sliplining, Hand Mining, and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD).


This Role would be suitable the following individuals:

  • An Estimator who feels like they may be stagnating or are pigeonholed in their current position and is looking to be involved in a variety of interesting and complex projects.
  • A Junior Estimator or similar with a few years of experience who can demonstrate they are ready to step into an Estimator position as the next level in their career.
  • A Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer looking to take their established skills and experience and pursue a career in Estimating/Preconstruction.
  • An experienced estimator who feels like a number on a screen in a large business and wants to be valued as a human being by joining a close-knit team with training and career growth.


Candidate Skills, Experience, and Background

  • Bachelor s Degree (or Equivalent) degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar discipline preferred but not essential.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of General Contracting Construction Estimating experience, ideally in Horizontal, Pipeline/Piping, or Heavy Civil Construction.
  • Technically savvy and computer literate must be experienced using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • B2W (Bid2Win) and VISTA or similar software experience preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with Bluebeam or similar On-Screen Take Off program.
  • Bid document submittal experience.


Compensation and Benefits

  • $110,000 - $130,000 Base Salary.
  • Annual Bonus based on company and employee performance.
  • $700 - $950 per month Vehicle Allowance.
  • Relocation Assistance.
  • Matching 401k Employee Contributes 5%, BT Construction matches 4% (new employees can roll over their 401k in first year of employment and can begin contributing after 1 years service).
  • Health and Dental Insurance all employees are covered 100% on base plan and dependents at 80%; majority of Vision Insurance is covered by BT Construction.
  • 15 Days PTO (increasing to 21 days PTO after 4 years service) + 6 Paid Holidays.
