**JOB SUMMARY**

With limited supervision from the Operations Manager, the Food Service Supervisor manages the Horizons Caf, on-site catering, and Northern Cup as profitable centers of revenue.

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service staff (4-5 employees) in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources. Ensures services are delivered in compliance with the contracts scope of work, DUS policies, and all applicable laws, regulations and operating standards

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Culinary training from an accredited culinary institute, or management experience in high volume dining operations.

* Five (5) years of experience in quantity food production operations and at least three (3) years supervisory experience in the food service industry.

* Valid drivers license and clean driving record

* Certified Professional Food Manager or equivalent

* Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English

* Must pass company pre-employment process including a drug test, criminal background check, and a post-offer physical/functional capacity evaluation.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* Proficient in Microsoft Office

* Experience in developing and implementing food service business plans

* Retail dining experience at a supervisory level

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

* Plan and supervise all aspects of daily food service operations. Supervises work at the job site by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.

* Promote a safe, respectful and professional workplace environment free of harassment, favoritism, and inappropriate behavior.

* Maintain cash control and payroll records.

* Hire and train unit personnel; ensure appropriate staffing levels for the job site.

* Maintain customer satisfaction and good public relations.

* Assume an active role in the company safety program by maintaining constant oversight of safety practices and work rules.

* Manage personnel and their development including scheduling, PTO coordination, evaluations, and issuing disciplinary actions with assistance from the human resources department.

* Maintain weekly payroll budgets by managing labor and effectively scheduling staff

* Work closely with chef and kitchen staff to continually develop and improve menus and customer service.

* Maintain weekly invoice recap by filing all weekly invoices; ensure information is entered into recap data sheet.

* Maintain daily revenue and expense tracking form to monitor costs.

* Order food and supplies.

* Conduct monthly inventories.

* Ensure items are put away, invoices checked for accuracy, and purchase equipment needed for catered events and caf operations.

* Monitor equipment to ensure proper functioning and schedule maintenance as needed.

* Monitor HAACP and safety/sanitation to ensure compliance with company standards.

* Provide support for catered events.

* This is a working supervisor position assist staff with food service duties during caf peak times and be available to provide back up support for personnel on duty as needed.

* Willingness to cook and/or prepare food when needed.

* Ensures adherence to all HR standards for DUS, client, and regulatory agencies.

* Willingness to perform other duties as required.

**WORKING ENVIRONMENT**

The majority of work is performed in a food service environment with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities. All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

The employees work requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Applicant will be required to successfully complete a post-offer pre-hire physical and Functional Capacity Exam.
