**ABOUT THE ROLE**Were looking for a positive, communicative, and data-driven Assistant Planner to join our Purchasing team. You will have the opportunity to work with an incredibly diverse vendor base, from independent artists to multi-national retailers, while owning decision making in your product category. This role contributes to the Uncommon Goods goal of providing an excellent customer experience by ensuring healthy stock levels of remarkable and unique products and generating financial results to support the companys long-term growth.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Plan one Merchandise Category:

+ Create seasonal forecasts based on sales history, trends, and marketing data

+ Create inventory buy plans based on forecasts and stock position, in partnership with vendors

+ Update forecasts in season based on true sales data and adjust plans accordingly

* Support multiple Merchandise Categories:

+ Manage SKU inventory levels across multiple warehouses and request replenishment purchase orders

+ Communicate and problem-solve with vendors and internal business partners on a consistent basis

+ Effectively balance critical metrics for optimal inventory position to maximize revenue while minimizing overstock risks

* Collaborate on analysis and assist in ad-hoc reporting

* Participate in department and company initiatives

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**

* Experience in a data-driven or analytical role

* Proficiency in Excel (writing and understanding advanced formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables)

* A love of working with numbers, including a robust understanding of retail math

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Proven ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks

* Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail

* Comfortable with shifting priorities as needed

* Prior experience in merchandise planning, buying, or vendor relationship management is highly desirable

This is currently a remote role, but on-site work may be required in the future. Fully vaccinated team members are welcome to work onsite, provided they follow the monthly testing schedule required for all onsite vaccinated team members.
