Forklift Operator 18 salaries Reviews about Pay & Benefits for Forklift Operator in Cascade Windows Job Work/Life Balance Compensation/Benefits Job Security/Advancement Management Job Culture It's a job Material Handler/Forklift Operator (Current Employee) - Spokane Valley, WA - November 1, 2018 Cascade Windows is known for high employee turnover, with a 133% turnover rate in 2017. Swing shift employees are expected to work 10-12 hour days during the busy season (usually April-October) with regular, mandatory Saturday shifts. Day shift is usually 10 hour days. Many employees work between 60-70 hours a week, 6 days a week.

Pay is low, but slightly higher than minimum wage. Raises are virtually nonexistent and numerous good workers have had to threaten to quit or have quit in order to persuade management to give raises.

This company will higher virtually anyone; their "now hiring" sign never comes down.

Cascade Windows is owned by a group of investors that are only interested in the bottom dollar. Everything is done "on the cheap", and without any solid input from the people that operate the machines, load the trucks, or drive the forklifts. The facility grounds are torn up with potholes and uneven ground, making forklift travel painful and dangerous, not to mention numerous broken glass units due to the unstable ground. Often times, changes are made on a whim, partly due to the numerous supervisor changes...lower and mid level management is also on a revolving door system, though not as noticeable as the laborers.

We are currently on our 3rd Safety Director in 12 months. Many safety issues need to be addressed, but are shot down because the company doesn't want to spend the money.

Attendance is on a points system, and depending on the quality of worker, points may be overlooked to some degree.

Employee moral is generally low.

Bottom line, - Pros Overtime Cons Management, facility health, overtime, turnover, pay Job Work/Life Balance Compensation/Benefits Job Security/Advancement Management Job Culture Decent pay and benefits Forklift Operator/Material Handler (Former Employee) - Spokane, WA - October 19, 2013 Was responsible for driving fork lift and being material handler of supplies needed in the production of making windows and frames. This company was in a total dissary of functioning properly. Orders were never on time, every thing was on a "need now!" basis. I never knew what time I would get off of work every day I came in. It was usually 9 to 10 hours a day.and you also worked most Saturdays.(My day started at 5 in the morning) I was eventually terminated because I bent the corner of a bay door that wasn't opened fully (which was not my responsibility)and it caused the door to come off track. I was not the only fork truck driver who had this accident. But the new plant manager said I wasn't what he expected in a fork lift driver(even though I am certified)and I was terminated after only 5 months of employment. Pros Decent wage and benefits Cons Never knowing what time my shift would end.
