Structural Engineer - Entry Level or Summer Intern


Job Details

Excellent opportunity for a technical engineer with a nationally-recognized forensic structural consulting firm based in our Chicago area office. We are looking for a candidate that has motivation, commitment, and enthusiasm to succeed. Candidate must have an interest in the evaluation, investigation, and repair design of structures or structural components.

Responsibilities

  • Forensic investigation and analysis
  • Field testing
  • Analysis of structural component and system applications
  • Repair design and specification development
  • Structural peer review; shop drawing / submittal review


Requirements

  • Must have a master degree in Civil Engineering / Structures or pursuing a master degree in Civil Engineering / Structures
  • Strong writing ability and communication skills
  • Knowledge of building science concepts and application to enclosure design and performance
  • Strong analytical ability in structural analysis and computer analysis programs
  • Ability to travel, perform field work, and work independently
  • Self-starter with genuine interest in career growth to Project Management
  • Active involvement in related professional organizations is preferred
