Job Description

As the Director of Philanthropy, you will be responsible for managing the development, planning, and implementation of all philanthropic activities in the Northern Illinois and Wisconsin area. Your role is vital in advancing our organization's goals, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring ALSAC meets its critical objectives. Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement strategies to ensure ALSAC meets its critical goals and supports overall business objectives efficiently and effectively.

2. Lead, mentor, and coach a team of professionals, providing guidance on goals, professional development, performance expectations, and metrics of success.

3. Establish and enforce policies and procedures to enhance organizational effectiveness while operating within budgetary parameters. Proactively address issues and develop problem-solving skills among team members.

4. Maintain awareness of fundraising programs and hospital initiatives, actively seek ways to enhance individual giving revenue, and stay current with industry trends.

5. Review and evaluate monthly progress of revenue, identifying areas that require attention, and provide this information to staff. Complete and review reports, travel expenses, donor visit reports, and proposals.

6. Foster positive relationships with third-party organizations and volunteers in the assigned area, representing ALSAC-St. Jude's in a manner that reflects positively on the organization.

Job Requirements:

- Thorough knowledge of bequest/planned-giving within the non-profit sector.

- Strong grasp of general management methods.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for internal and external relations.

- Ability to understand complex verbal and written instructions.

- Familiarity with data processing applications.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's Degree preferred, with 8+ years of relevant experience. In lieu of formal education, 8+ years of related work experience will be considered.

- Proficiency in both Spanish and English languages is desirable, as it enables effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders and donors.
