Safety Supervisor Overview

Are you passionate about ensuring the safety and well-being of others? As a Safety Supervisor, you'll be at the forefront of creating a secure working environment for our team. Collaborating with site management and reporting to the Facilities Safety Manager, you'll play a vital role in safeguarding employees, colleagues, and the public. This dynamic position is deemed 'safety sensitive,' highlighting the critical nature of your responsibilities in maintaining a hazard-free workplace. Join us and make a meaningful impact every day!

Safety Supervisor Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Audit the shop to ensure safe work performance and compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records as required by OSHA and company policy.
  • Investigate job related injuries and accidents. Complete required incident investigation reports and assist claims personnel with claim resolution.
  • Provide first aid to employees for work-related injuries.
  • Perform safety orientations and weekly safety meetings to ensure compliance. Performs various types of safety related training.
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Safety Supervisor Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing or construction experience with a recognized safety certification. Must have an OSHA 30 certification.
  • Must have CPR certification or ability to obtain one.
  • Must have good oral communication skills and be able to conduct safety meetings.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • A current driver's license with a good driving history is required.

Safety Supervisor Physical Demands

  • Overtime, weekend work, odd hours, and overnight travel on occasion.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to walk and stand for hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift, push, carry, and pull 25 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations and a dusty, loud environment.
  • Must be able to be around high voltage electromagnetic fields.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations and medical trauma in a calm, controlled manner.

This role is classified as safety sensitive. Candidates must show the capacity to proactively initiate, effectively lead, and consistently uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards. Compliance with this requirement is a fundamental condition for employment.
