Salary Range: $11.00 - $18.00 per hour.
Up to 19 hours per week. The Library is open on evenings and weekends. Availability to work evenings and/or weekends may be required.
Representative Job Duties

This position is responsible in assisting library patrons in their use of computing and office devices, and related software products. They help patrons and guests reserve and sign into the library's computer and automation system. This position is also responsible for maintaining, setting up, and resolving issues with the library's computers. Computer Assistants perform basic scheduled maintenance, care for equipment, and perform other support duties as assigned.

Job Requirements - As Determined By the City Of Southfield

High School Graduate or GED required
Strong commitment to positive and polite public service.
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Windows .
Experience troubleshooting PC Hardware.
Able to work independently after training.
Possess strong problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented.

Preferred:
Computer Lab and/or Library experience.
Software troubleshooting experience.

Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to lift 25 lbs., bend, push a cart, and stand for periods of time.
