XLC Services is seeking an experienced Shift Manager/Business Unit Leader at our Managed Services Manufacturing Operation in Browns Summit, NC. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a culture of safe practices and processes with strong employee engagement and development.. The idea candidate must be able to work with a diverse and culturally mixed staff as well as client leadership among many departments. A sense of urgency and the desire to produce results are a key factor in selecting the right candidate for the position.
Key duties include:
Guide a strong team within a consumer packaging environment.
Running shift day to day activities.
Guide shift leadership to deliver results.
Allocation of resources to deliver safe and productive output and warehouse management error free.
Manage the production schedule and material requirements for each production run.
Tracks employee hours worked & attendance.
Provides both written and verbal feedback to employees to improve performance.
Successful Candidate will be:
Able to work 3rd Shift (some weekend hours required).
Hands on and highly involved on the shift
Inventory savvy and able to negotiate through SAP and the warehouse management system to ensure inventory is accurate and delivered on time for each run,
Able to direct resources in a timely manner to meet production schedule.
Able to execute training plans to ensure employees have the appropriate skill set.
Evaluate performance and coach employees toward improvements.
Experienced in Lean Manufacturing.
Able to demonstrate Continuous Improvement activities that improved safety, productivity and quality.
Highly organized.
Demonstrate excellent written and oral skills.
Comfortable creating and entering data into excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word and uploading data into central databases.
Enforcing company policies and procedures.
Data oriented problem solver.
Interacting with departmental leaders & support groups on maintaining compliance with methods, standards, policies and cGMP's.
Developing, executing and tracking training and follow-up programs to ensure adequate staff development.
Establishing effective communication methods to provide continuity of information across all shifts.
Providing a daily update on performance.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
7 years supervision in Production environment
Understanding of Inventory management systems such as SAP and various WMS platforms.
