Position Summary:
Level One: Selected candidates for Plating Operator Level 1 (entry level) position will learn tasks that support the Plating department. A Level 1 Plating Operator will be expected to perform a variety of support functions which include but are not limited to racking, unracking, and cleaning of production aerospace parts. Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills. Candidates must have the ability and desire to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced production environment, be resourceful and innovative along with presenting a strong business ethic and compliance to leadership and company policies, and a good communicator with the ability to represent the company in a positive manner. Other responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as adherence to organization safety rules and regulations. Level 1 Plating Operators will also be performing verifications ensuring that all traces of organic soils, fingerprints, dirt and dust etc. are removed by using solvent cleaners.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
* Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
* Verify parts to shop traveler for quantities and that prior operations have been completed before starting process.
* If any discrepancies, return to prior department for corrections.
* Read shop travelers or blueprints to determine specified requirements and instructions for plating parts.
* Review specific instructions and operating procedures for the Plating process to make sure that specific requirements are met according to shop traveler instructions.
* Follow standard operating procedures to check, test, login, logout, and plate good quality parts, coordinating with department's supervisor or lead during the process.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
* The ability to read and write English.
* An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
* A basic knowledge of inspection tools and their proper use.
* A basic knowledge of machine tools.
* The ability to interpret written instruction on shop travelers.
* Capable of setting up and running parts as required.
Required Experience:
*1 years of experience.
Level of Education:
* GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
