Title: Collections Specialist

Overview:
Risus is hiring a Collections Specialist to join our largest client, a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions. The Collections Specialist will work closely with internal departments to ensure accounts are paying within credit terms. We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled researcher with excellent communication and record-keeping skills. The Collections Specialist will review account information, speak with customers to collect outstanding balances and identify/correct root cause issues from recurring. This is a full-time role and will sit on-site in Clearwater, FL.
Responsibilities:
- Running Aging Reports and reviewing customer accounts to prioritize daily collection calls on a portfolio to ensure prompt payment within credit terms.
- Proactively contacting late paying customers before due dates to ensure timely payments with the highest level of professionalism and positive demeanor.
- Make and receive collection calls on a portfolio of accounts by adhering to and executing designated collection strategy with precision follow-up and responsiveness.
- Releasing orders from credit hold for reasons consistent with company policy and gross margin objectives.
- Researching and recording payment information on customers websites for cash application or making contact to secure.
- Obtaining information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and complete and that accounts receivable ledgers and journals are up to date.
- Setting up new customer accounts in systems, including contacting credit references and regularly rechecking references if there has been no activity for 6 months.
- Maintaining records regarding payments and account statuses
- Generating reports and statements for internal use
- Assisting with accounting support as necessary
- Performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, sending bill reminders, filing paperwork, and contacting customers to discuss their accounts.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in collections.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Outlook
- Ability to build relationships with clients and internal departments.
- Excellent communication, research, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Must be organized.
