Air Quality Permitting Specialist


Job Details

True Environmental is seeking an Air Quality Permitting Specialist to work out of our office in eastern Texas to provide regulatory compliance services for industries such as oil and gas, surface coating, etc. The successful candidate must demonstrate experience with the position's responsibilities or capacity to quickly comprehend and implement the Clean Air Act regulations and state air permitting requirements.


Key responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Comprehend and apply various environmental regulations to assist clients with compliance.
  • Most work will involve environmental field assessments, audits, soil/water sampling, and permitting for the oil/gas industry.
  • Conduct GPS field data collection and assist with other projects as needed.
  • Conduct LDAR infrared camera leak inspections.


Required Qualifications

  • Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental, Mathematics, or Natural Science field of study.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience with air permitting or emission calculations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Limited local and out-of-state travel required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
  • Interact in a positive and professional manner with clients and other staff.
  • The successful candidate must complete and pass a pre-employment drug test and maintain a drug-free status with our substance abuse policy which includes random drug testing.


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Texas and New Mexico Air quality regulations.
  • Experience with ProMax.
  • Familiar with oil & gas operations and process equipment.
  • Field or consulting experience.
