Job Summary:

The Satellite Operator (SatOps) will be a vital member of the team, responsible for ensuring the operational success of satellite missions. This role demands a strong background in satellite systems, acute attention to detail, and a commitment to the flawless functioning of space technologies.


Essential Job Functions and Desired Accomplishments:

  • Perform daily monitoring and commanding tasks for satellites and ground network operations.
  • Monitor satellite operations, respond to alarms, and coordinate troubleshooting activities.
  • Execute commands and procedures on satellites, ensuring nominal and anomalous operations.
  • Support payload operations and assist in spacecraft anomaly analysis.
  • Monitor the ground station network and assist with pass activities.
  • Conduct regular checks on spacecraft performance trends and contribute to analysis reports.
  • Maintain shift logs and participate in shift briefings.
  • Assist in documenting Satellite Operations procedures.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings.


Education/Qualifications/Certifications:


Required:

  • Bachelor s degree in STEM (remote sensing, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science) or higher.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in written and oral communication.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule including holidays, weekends, and night shifts.
  • Ability to obtain clearance.


Desired:

  • Experience in Satellite Operations.
  • Scripting or Python programming experience.
  • Familiarity with Linux OS and commercial cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
