**Description**

Essential Functions:

* Maintain a visible, welcoming presence throughout your shift. Establish rapport with youth and parents. Provide encouragement and motivation to boost confidence and foster a love of movement among youth in your care.

* Maintain a good working knowledge of general exercise principles and youth appropriate physical activity to keep youth safely engaged throughout their time in the center.

* Educate youth and families on youth fitness center policies and etiquette and enforce them in a consistent, non-confrontational manner. Follow YMCA youth safety protocols at all times.

* Clean equipment and maintain an orderly, safe environment. Address any potential safety issues immediately

Minimum Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* CPR & First Aide Certified

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous experience engaging youth in organized activities.

* Personal experience using common exercise equipment and performing fundamental movement patterns with and without equipment (squat, lunge, push, pull and press).

* Multi-lingual skills
