What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the US Finance Manager, the Staff Accountant will administer the day-to-day activities related to Finance for sites in Elk Grove Village, IL and Fontana, CA.

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for various accounting responsibilities. Duties include cash application, bank reconciliations, expense report reviews, audit assistance and the preparation of month end journal entries. The position uses standard spreadsheet software (Excel) and ERP software (Sage). The Staff Accountant will participate in the upcoming ERP system implementation.

Essential Duties/Functions

Essential Duties are those that are critical, integral, necessary, crucial, primary, and/or fundamental. These essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform.

Record, monitor, and reconcile all cash transactions. Monitor aged receivables. Collection calling/emailing/monthly statement generation. Analyze new customer requests. Maintain DSO per the target. Track D&B credit reports for all customers.

Reconcile and verify all employee expense reports (Expensify). Record and pay. Reconcile associated GL accounts monthly.

Assist with month-end functions including general ledger account analyses, month end closing entries, accrual entries, and allocation entries. Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts and maintain accrual balance details.

Daily reconciliation of banking, monthly account reconciliations.

Manufacturing batch variance review and approval.

Annual census report filing.

Daily invoice report review (and accounting liaison to customer service team).

Backup to all month end closing procedures and backup to accounts payable when needed.

Maintain and file business permits/licenses.

Assist with all internal and external audits.

Other ad hoc functions and analyses as required.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proven experience with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel

High level accuracy and attention to detail, fast and accurate data entry skills

Ability to work independently

Detail Oriented - pays attention to the details and can make a conscious effort to understand causes and effects

Able to prioritize, meet deadlines, and remain organized

Ability to research various subjects independently of management guidance

Must have good communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees, managers, sales people, customers and vendors
