REQUIREMENTS

If you are truly a hands-on Infrastructure Systems Architect, who also has the experience to forecast and lead, we need to make sure the resume reflects the technical skills the client is looking for like, Azure/ Cloud servers and networking, hardware infrastructure (Windows and Linux servers, file servers, storage devices, network firewalls). We are looking for somebody hands on, not an exec or a manager. This will be an individual contributor with little delegation.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Are you a Sr. Systems Architect who can see the big picture?

Have you worked at large corporations, such as fortune 100 s to fortune 500 s, defining and architecting the company s systems? If you have, and would like to build that success again, we want you!

We need a Sr. System's Architect who is heavy on the hardware side and not software focused for this role.

Somebody who can do the work alongside the other System s Architects, but also lead them to help the company, and their clients grow.

Client is constantly implementing new products, technologies and hardware into the company.


The full cycle Systems Architect/ Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading, forecasting, evaluating, purchasing, implementing, upgrading & managing products.

Examples:

  • Windows/ Windows Server (latest and upcoming versions). Knows how to do upgrades to companywide vs purchasing all new servers.
  • AI: Need a solution for the clients to have a fixed cost rather than a per click cost.

A hands-on technical engineer who can evaluate current technical situations and provide guidance for improvement.

  • Know how to implement new systems and learn 3rd party products on the fly.
  • Be the hero - Take our client to greatness.


The Systems Architect we are looking for will be responsible for end-to-end enterprise systems application design and development to best support the strategic needs of our client and ensure successful integration with existing and future applications. Architecting solutions will require coordination with and across resources with the IT department and with stakeholders across the organization.

Your role, as the Systems Architect, is to define the future of our client s systems.

  • Review system requirements and present project plans, including cost, to the Director of IT to ensure solutions are consistent with overall IT strategy and planning.
  • The ability to own the design and implementation of comprehensive systems solutions.
  • Architect new systems and solutions.
  • Responsible for the integration of the enterprise system architecture and the customer, vendor/supplier, and industry standards/regulations architectures and integrating the enterprise, business, process, information, IT, system and service architect roles with external architectures.
  • Leading the enterprise system architecture design and development.
  • Interdependencies with all team members and what the team members do.
  • Setting expectations and best utilizing the talent.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Architect new systems and solutions:

  • Design solutions, including collecting technical and business requirements, determining one-time and ongoing operating costs, making recommendations, and proposing solutions.
  • Develop project plans, including outline detailed scope, developing testing and acceptance criteria, identifying specific work and resource requirements across IT functions to execute the project, often coordinating with a project manager for scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Implement solutions, including performing project work, overseeing project work, and validating work performed across the team for completeness and quality.
  • Maintains solutions, including ensuring the completion of solution documentation, establishing the necessary maintenance and management systems, and training IT resources to support the solution.
  • Represent the technical team to program managers and executive leadership.
  • Maintain knowledge of existing and emerging technologies as it relates to the business requirements and strategic planning, including vendor research and building external relationships.

Support existing IT systems and operational requirements, including:

  • Providing technical leadership and solution design to support projects across IT
  • Manage installations, upgrades and configurations of hardware and software
  • Assess system performance and recommend improvements

o Resolve issues escalated by technicians and engineers

o Develop IT policies and practices

o Experience with management and automation tools

  • Work with the Security Administrator to maintain guidelines and security implementations for server and workstation deployments
  • Maintain the integrity of systems and security levels
  • Analyze current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and suggest enhancement solutions
  • Correctly and efficiently design key system components, interfaces, infrastructure, and communications
  • Steward of the IT department, by representing a positive and professional example of the IT Services team and the Company through polished professional communications and interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE):

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills and customer relations skills.

Proven ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization, including but not limited to, developers, product owners and subject matter experts.

Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of peers and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity.

Results-oriented, diligent and works with a sense of urgency. Assertive, self-directed, have a strong affinity for defining work in deliverables and be willing to commit to deadlines.

Ability to work and execute independently as well as across organizational boundaries.

Ability to rely on knowledge and professional discretion to perform daily job duties.

Strong ability to problem solve & troubleshoot.

Ability to be flexible, prioritize workload and have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Proven ability in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change.
