Our internship program is designed to help you not only understand what we do but how and why we do it. The Corporate Strategic Growth, Investor Relations & Environmental Social Governance (ESG) intern will learn the business development and project management side of Meritage Homes from our Build-for-Rent channels. Whether it is communicating deals to potential large scale buyers and sellers or if you are interested in learning more about the transactional side of real estate, then this is a unique opportunity to grow your sales and project management skills. This internship opportunity will be part-time split into 2 departments at 15 hours each for a total of 30 hours during the Fall 2024 semester. They would like to have an intern for at least 1 year to fully understand the internship roles and responsibilities.
The corporate strategic growth aspects you will do:
- Learn how to grow a new part of meritage homes' business
- Gathering statistics and data
- Learning something different everyday
- Organizing data reports
The Investor Relations & ESG aspects you will do:- Learn internal information and data gathering
- Opportunity to work with procurement, accounting and finance teams within Meritage Homes
- Exposure to investor relations and putting together financial binders with high profile exposure to the executive management team
- Work closely with internal business leaders to learn the homebuilding industry, the Meritage business model and an assigned functional area such as construction, land, marketing, operations, purchasing, finance, human resources, etc.
- Learn our core values and why they drive everything we do
- Translate classroom experience into practical application during the internship
- Participate in cross-functional projects involving other interns and business leaders centered around current business challengesPresent real world business recommendations to senior leadership that can help drive our strategy
- Write a paper focusing on the experience or another assigned topic
