Job Description

Responsibilities:

Tasks related to maintenance of highways and drainage improvements and the supporting buildings, grounds and equipment.

Typical Duties:

Performs a variety of highway maintenance tasks including minor report of road surfaces, rights-of-way, drainage ditches, structures, and traffic control devices, mowing vegetation, cutting brush, pruning trees, removing refuse, painting, flagging traffic, controlling ice and snow. Performs routine vehicle and equipment maintenance including fueling, washing, adding or changing oil, grease, or fluids as necessary, airing tires. Minor alterations and repairs such as installing mud flaps, replacing head and tail lights, changing tires, batteries, air filters, tire chains, wiper blades, snow plows, salt spreader, etc.

Performs general building maintenance duties including structural repairs, parking lot maintenance, removing trash, mopping, painting, mowing the lawn, washing windows, shoveling or plowing snow.

Qualifications

Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

Able to work in adverse weather conditions.

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL).

One year highway maintenance or related construction work is desirable.

Must be familiar with hand tools, power tools, and lawn maintenance equipment. Drive all types of licensed vehicles and operate light duty off-road equipment.

Additional Information

Pay Rate: $17.08 - $20.57
