What You'll Do:- Supports and adheres to all safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Qualifies and maintains proficiency in all applicable technical skills and meets job description requirements for those positions.
- Responsible for maintenance and improvements of machines, including mechanical rotating equipment, conveying equipment, vibrating equipment, mechanical drives, and their support systems.
- Handles maintenance improvements of piping in the plant, covering pipe, fittings, valves, spouts, chutes, and some thin metal fabrication and repairs. Also includes minor carpentry and insulation work.
- Collaborates with operations employees to troubleshoot equipment repairs and modifications.
- Works closely with employees, contractors, and outside personnel.
- Completes shop papers with a detailed description of work performed during the repair and the time to complete the task.
- Performs assigned computer functions (SAP or other CMMS systems).
- Safely lifts tools, parts, and equipment, using others or mechanical means to ensure a safe lift.
- Able to operate hand and power tools, welding, rigging, exhibits troubleshooting skills, has pipe design skills, ability to read blueprints and P&ID.
- Skills in maintaining turbines and compressors, general lubrication knowledge, and high mechanical skills.
- Assists in developing standardized mechanical methods, hardware, system designs, and maintaining piping and process standards while installing new piping and rotating equipment.
- Recommends and acts on preventative maintenance on mechanical and piping systems.
- Adheres to relevant repair standards whenever possible, discussing deviations with the supervisor as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll need:- Two year technical degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve
- Must be 18 year of age or older
- Must be able to work an on-call rotation
- Good computer skills
- Demonstrated good communication skills

Work Environment:
This position works 95% of the time inside; 5% of the time is spent outside. Occasionally this position requires working with hazards, extreme heat/cold; humidity, heights, exposure to dust, fumes and gasses.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Physical demands of this position include repetitive use of hands and arms. Individual must be able to talk, hear, see, and distinguish colors. Individual must be able to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 lbs. and climb stairs.
