Job Description
PALLET SORTER - 3rd shift - Ashley, IN
We are seeking a Pallet Sorter to join our Ashley, IN team, working inside the Family Dollar Distribution Center.If you have warehouse experience, a strong work ethic and the ability to sweat through 8-hours of fast-paced heavy lifting, a Pallet Sorter position with CHEP could be a great fit!

3rd shift: Sunday-Thursday, 9:00 pm-5:00 am

Position Purpose:
The Sorter position is responsible for collecting and sorting pallets by hand for grading as they flow throughout the facility. This position involves tandem sorting that requires high collaboration with other team members. May leverage hand tools to remove nails or debris from pallets. May operate a forklift to collect pallets throughout the facility.
Major/Key Accountabilities:
Pallet Sorting
Sort pallets as they are moved to sort area.
Removes debris and trash from pallets.
Determines which pallets require repairs.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment daily.
Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience working in an industrial, fast paced environment with industrial equipment.
Ability to complete task within a timely manner with high attention to detail.
Ability to understand and communicate information is essential.
Ability to work independently in a team environment is essential.
Previous experience on a sit-down, L.P. forklift (desired but not required)
Skills & Knowledge:
Physical Requirements:
Lift and carry up to 75 lbs at least 33% of their work shift.
Push items with a maximum force of 31 lbs./feet.
Pull items with a maximum force of 31 lbs./feet.
Working Conditions:
The role involves working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Work requires standing for long periods of time.
Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures may occur.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
Languages:
Essential - English
Desirable - Spanish
