Airbnb is looking for an experienced and inspiring Creative Director, Copy to join the Marcom Creative Team. Spanning design, copywriting, interactive, photography, film, and events, this internal team stewards the Airbnb brand and creates a wide range of highly visible work to inspire our rapidly growing guest and host communities. We work cross-functionally across the company as well as with outside agencies, production companies and creatives to bring our ideas to life.

The Creative Director, Copy will report to the Director, Marcom Creative, Copy and be based in San Francisco. This key role will help steer product launches, brand campaigns, and the tenor and progress of a multifaceted team. It requires a great creative and strategic mind paired with equal parts humility and empathy.

You are a standout writer and storyteller who also understands the nuances, power and principles of design deeply. While you have done much great work yourself, you have also developed and managed numerous creative teams. You have a strong track record of partnering closely with brand management professionals, and overseeing all aspects of the creative process from start to finish. You can communicate effectively with direct reports, fellow team members, and partners within Airbnb. You must be comfortable helping to hone marketing strategies and high-level product narratives, translating them to lead inspiring and successful creative solutions. You are a learner not merely a knower. You have a brilliant wide-ranging portfolio that demonstrates success at building brands, particularly lifestyle brands.

You'll be entrusted with the Airbnb brand and expected to push it forward. You will help build a challenging, enriching, respectful, and fun environment for a team of talented creatives. These are important shoes, and we're excited to fill them.

**Responsibilities**

* Directly manage and lead a team of creatives across: design, copywriting, film/tv, experiential, social and interactive disciplines. Hands-on as needed.

* Drive innovative uses of emerging technologies/media as relevant

* Represent the voice and tone of the Airbnb brand.

* Partner with leaders across the company to ensure the brands creative vision is consistent with broader company vision and initiatives.

* Collaborate with brand managers to help hone messaging strategies

* Mentor creatives on the team

* Foster a respectful and collaborative environment that inspires the team and continually raises our standard of creative excellence

**Requirements**

* 12+ years hands-on creative direction experience, preferably a mix of agency, creative studio experience and leading in-house teams at global brands.

* Outstanding portfolio demonstrating a wide range of best-in-class digital campaign work.

* Excellent management skills. Experience inspiring creative teams with a strong vision and empowering individuals to achieve their best work.

* Experience collaborating closely with Brand Management teams. Ability to translate market research, data, and strategy to creative solutions.

* Deep experience working toward solutions across various media/emerging technologies.

* Demonstrated success in lea ding multiple cross-media campaigns.

* Flexible and dependable.

* Ability to think both strategically and tactically, concept through execution.

* Exceptional communication and presentation skillsyou can effectively communicate and passionately defend decisions.

* Incredible organization, communication, prioritization, and decision-making skills.

* Empathy for the customer, and empathy for individuals on the creative team.
