Role Introduction

To lead on and support Cargo Services in executing the corporate strategy and various initiatives relating to cargo services and delivery.

To drive operational excellence and service delivery by partnering with regional stakeholders to provide clarity, guidance and support on the set performance targets and established matrix.

To serve as an extension of Cargo Service Delivery in the region and in support of the regional strategy.

Key Responsibilities

**Service Delivery and Excellence**

* Ensure all cargo operations activities consistently run smoothly and effectively

* Lead and manage all aspects of cargo services and operations in the region to give Cathay a competitive edge in terms of service quality

**Safety and Regulatory Compliance**

* Conform to the required safety and security standards, meet all company, local, international aviation, authority and legal requirements

* Oversee all safety issues in the region relating to cargo services, specifically but not limited to

**Bridging Head Office / Regional Office and Local Sales Teams**

* Partner with the Head Office team on all security matters including liaison with local authorities as required

* Lead on and facilitate the set-up of new cargo stations in conjunction with Head Office directives

* Lead and actively support the execution of services strategies within the region

* Act as regional trainer as directed by Cargo Service Delivery

**Partnerships and External Liaisons**

* Partner with Airline Purchasing Department to appoint preferred third party handling agents in each port and establish binding Service Level Agreements and take responsibility to closely monitor performance against the Service Level Agreement

* Develop close and effective working relationships with regional Ground Handling Agents, as appropriate, to extract maximum value from the relationship

* Develop and maintain positive relationships with local Civil Aviation Departments and various applicable regulatory bodies to enhance the overall interests of the Company

**People Development and Performance Management**

* Lead, support and encourage own team to achieve success

* Build a strong and motivated team, ensuring the right organisational structure and the right people are in place to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork

* Supervise and mentor direct reports, encouraging effective collaboration

* Demonstrate leadership and lead by example in accordance with Cathays core values

* Develop employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development

* Maintain active and ongoing dialogue in relation to employee goals and individual performance

* Actively engage with employees to enhance communication and their understanding of department goals

* Support the People Managers to design and conduct internal development programs including succession planning as appropriate ensuring alignment with Head Office direction

* Enhance the employee experience in line with the role level and the internal brand promise

Requirements

**Academic qualifications**

* MIA/Offline a related discipline

**Knowledge, skills, training and experience**

* A minimum of 8 years cargo or aviation related experiences with at least 4 years in supervisory / management roles

* Strong working knowledge of airline and the international air freight industry

* Proven success records in setting and achieving goals and targets

* In-depth communication, management and demonstrated leadership ability

* Superior interpersonal and communication skills

* Excellent decision-making and time management skills

* Must be in compliance with Companys mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination policy

* Must have the permanent legal right to live and work in USA
