The Daughters of Charity Ministries is a retirement community for the Sisters of the Daughters of Charity. We are located in Menands, NY in a wonderful, parklike setting. Vehicle parking is onsite. We offer 3 levels of care- independent, assisted and skilled.
Currently, we have two openings for an Activities Assistant, part-time and full time. We are looking for a caring, committed and compassionate individual who enjoys working with an older population. The individual filling this role will enhance our resident's experience by providing personalized options that help each person achieve the fullest life possible, no matter the age or stage of life. This individual is a crucial link in ensuring that our residents have programming that supports, validates and enhances their quality of life. The Activities Assistant plans, implements and evaluates recreational programs for the residents. This position will assist in establishing and maintaining an enriching, person centered experience which helps each of our residents in achieving their life journey. The Activities Assistant assists and implements the monthly social calendar, events, outings and programs. They will review these programs and the level of participation for effectiveness and make changes appropriately.
Prior experience as an Activities Assistant is necessary!
This position will:
- Develop, implement and oversee group and one on one social programs for our residents. Ensure that each one is prepared and promoted well in advance. Ensure successful execution of all events. Continually monitor and evaluate the life enrichment programs and enhance as needed.
- Transport and/or assist the residents on outings and trips. Ensure safe transport of residents at all times.
- Complete necessary assessments, forms and documentation.
- Note the resident's program participation and motivate as needed.
- Gather and disseminate information about community programs and seminars.
