**Position Summary**

Operate a lift truck in a safe and efficient manner while yarding Concrete Masonry and Retaining wall units.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Operate lift truck in a safe and efficient manner through levers and pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.

Safely and efficiently utilize forklift equipment.

Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.

Monitor and operate pertinent equipment for the wrapping of Concrete Masonry and Retaining wall products.

Coordinate yard storage with Yard staff.

Monitor and place pallets in cuber.

Assist with cube line changeovers.

Maintain an inventory of shrink wrap film and pallets for production.

Remove waste material and waste product from plant area.

Assures product quality by assisting with maintenance and repairs of pertinent equipment.

Performs daily inspections and reports maintenance that may be required or performs minor repairs.

Assures equipment and plant area is clean.

Other duties may be assigned.

**Position Requirements & Education**

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Forklift certification with at least 1 year of proven forklift experience.

* Must be able to go through company forklift certification.

* Must have safety awareness and the ability to assure work is performed according to department safety standards.

* Must have general maintenance knowledge and ability.

* Must have knowledge and ability to use hand and power tools.

* Must be self-motivated and able to follow directions.

* Must be able to move heavy pallet efficiently.

**Working Conditions**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, must have good dexterity skills and able to talk and hear.

The employee is required to bend, stoop, squat, twist and climb on a repetitive basis, stand; walk and climb on stairs and ladders or balance.

Must have good eyesight (may be corrected).

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside extreme hot and cold weather conditions.

The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The employee will work with equipment daily on a routine basis.

The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and moderate non-hazardous dust or airborne particles.

The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

This is a tobacco free campus and facility.
