Job Description: SQL/MX Database Administrator (DBA)
Multiple locations for Hybrid mode: Richmond, VA , Atlanta, GA, Seattle , WA, plano, TX, charlotte, NC

Main Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL/MX databases, including performance tuning, disk management, and monitoring to ensure high availability and performance.
- Work within the HP Guardian environment, using TACL to manage and support database operations.
- Develop and execute OSS scripting to automate tasks and improve database efficiency.
- Perform SQL/MX query optimization and tuning to enhance application responsiveness.
- Prepare complex production releases, including DDL and DML, for new initiatives and maintenance releases.
- Conduct complex analysis and implement solutions to improve database performance and stability across distributed systems.
- Collaborate with application development teams and other departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of the database systems.
- Stay current with new technologies and methodologies to continuously improve database management processes and systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as an Application DBA with HP NonStop SQL/MX RDBMS in a production environment on OSS.
- Proven experience with HP Guardian and knowledge of disk volumes.
- Strong understanding of SQL/MX DBMS development and optimization in an application development context.
- Experience with scripting languages such as bash shell scripts and proficiency in vi editor.
- Capable of managing complex database structures and implementing best practices in DDL and DML management.
Desired or Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and experience with tools like Git/Bitbucket.
- Experience with custom indexing and schema tuning to enhance database performance.
- Familiarity with payment transactions processing using ISO 8583 and/or ISO 20022 protocols.
- Proficiency in Agile Methodology and tools like JIRA.
- Experience working on distributed applications across multiple systems such as WebSphere, JBoss, and Tuxedo.
- Additional scripting skills in languages like Python and Perl.
