Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Millville, NJ for an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager. The EHS Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of company-wide Environment, Health and Safety programs. The EHS Manager will also be responsible for identifying EHS hazards and recommending corrective actions, managing occupational health, conducting accident investigations and developing and delivering EHS training programs for employees.


Qualifications

  • Strong background in Health & Safety with an emphasis on Environment and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Investigate injuries/illnesses, near-misses and environmental incidents
  • Manages and directs site in achieving Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) targets & objectives
  • Develop, implement and improve Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs and processes including emergency preparedness and fire protection, safety risk assessments and safe working procedures for non-office activities, hazardous waste management, training, ergonomics, contractor safety, and crisis management
  • Provide status updates and recommendations to senior management on program and policy development for health, safety and environmental compliance programs
  • Monitor & inspect employees for compliance with PPE and other regulations
  • Analyze spend and monitor budgets to identify cost savings opportunities
  • Stay informed of industry best practices providing input and leadership in development and roll-out of companywide policies and procedures
  • The position may also be responsible for treating minor injuries, managing worker s comp

  • Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices and develop hazard control practices and programs
  • Maintains permits and compliance systems for Company
  • This role may require off-shift and weekend work
  • This role may require some travel (less than 5%)
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Occupational Safety, Engineering or related degree preferred.
  • Professional certification desired (Certified Safety Professional, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Auditor)
  • Safety-related professional certifications desired.
  • 3-7 years of experience with an emphasis in health and safety management or experience in a technical environment requiring adherence to strong health and safety practices
  • Experience working in food manufacturing or related industry a plus.
  • Familiarity with business continuity standards and practices
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, and presentation skills
