**Overview**
**Job Description**
Reporting directly to the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Team Lead is responsible for all aspects of the trucking operations; drivers and equipment, maintaining oversight of routing, scheduling and dispatch to customers. Adherence to applicable provincial and federal regulatory standards is strictly enforced. Actively contributes to a positive and productive working environment.
**Job Requirements**
**Key Business Functions, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities**
* Determines the Manpower requirements and staff his/her shift appropriately reacting to any situation affecting his/her planning (Holidays, BOGOs, unplanned events, etc.)
* Monitors and reports the daily productivity information and on time service.
* Explains any variances on productivity
* Schedules equipment maintenance within Provincial Legislated requirements and ensure the safe operation of all Transport vehicles
* Manages absenteeism and employees tardiness
* Recruits, trains, develops, motivates and coaches truck drivers, and provides regular feedback, including administering corrective actions as required
* Communicates any relevant information to the employees
* Demonstrates outstanding leadership, with a clear vision and consistent sense of direction and serves as a role model for employees
* Ensures that the Health and safety rules are being followed
* Ensures that system and tools are being used as instructed
* Reviews all Delivery Sheets and Trip Books
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements
* Other duties as required
**Technical Skills Required:**
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
* Good communication skills (both oral and written)
* Results oriented leader, with solid judgment and decision making skills
* Demonstrated successful ability working with cross-functional teams
* Planning and organizing skills
* Strong leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills

**Preferred:**
* Working knowledge of CAMS, JDA, XATA, TMT
**Educational and Working Experience Required**
* Minimum of High School diploma and 2 years of experience in a warehouse or transportation company, or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Demonstrated successful experience leading warehouse or transportation employees
**Working Conditions**
* Retail support centre
* Physical work including frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
* Occasionally lift over 88 lbs
* Two person lift required for weights exceeding 50 lbs
* Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
* Possible exposure to extreme temperatures
* Alertness to other people and vehicles
* Various shifts including evenings and weekends
