SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Coordinator of Employer Services works with employers to understand their needs, develop solutions to address their needs, help employers develop greater acuity in working with participants, and facilitates employment opportunities for participants; helps the Workforce Development Instructor build curricular pedagogy; and works with the Post-Employment Liaison to facilitate solutions, solidify client employment, and further develop participant skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Conduct a minimum of six weekly employer contacts to understand their business needs, describe program support, and highlight relevant participant strengths

Meet with and present to businesses, employers, and workforce partners to explain the YouthSource Center workforce model and its success criteria for graduates, fostering partnerships for stepwise employment opportunities

Collaborate with employers and partners to develop and implement stepwise employment opportunities, ensuring sustained success for graduates

Work with entry-level and living-wage employers to create an employment pipeline for seamless transitions and living-wage careers

Secure internships and job shadowing opportunities to aid participants in progressing through stepwise employment phases

Secure agreements and Memorandums of Understanding with partnering employers

Identify job leads, negotiate transitional and permanent employment opportunities, and match applicant qualifications with employer needs

Maintain records of unselected applicants, develop strategies to support them, and create support plans with Case Managers

Assist youth in securing employment and maintain a database and statistics tracking participant progress as required by funding partners

Collaborate with program staff (Case Manager, Workforce Development Instructor, Job Placement Liaison, College and Career Counselor and Attendance Administrator) to ensure communication and alignment in achieving customer satisfaction and job placement goals

Support sustained employment and career transitions for program graduates in coordination with the Job Placement Liaison and Workforce Development Instructor

Assist in monitoring job placements and collecting data to ensure program graduates succeed in employment and career objectives

Facilitate pre-employment and post-employment workshops and professional development opportunities

Provide timely interventions and return employer calls within 8 hours or less

Develop individual employment plans in collaboration with program participants and Case Managers.

Fulfill any other duties as requested or required by the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:

Bachelor degree in Social Sciences or similar field (MSW a plus)

Minimum 5 years of paid experience in workforce development, case management/career counseling, and/or recruiting

Bilingual/Spanish a plus

Must have a valid driver license and clean driving record and own transportation

Related Experience:

Minimum 2 years of paid experience in job development

1 year experience facilitating workshops Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Exceptional collaboration and teamwork abilities

Comfortable working with individuals from diverse creative and technical backgrounds

Excellent problem-solving capabilities

Proficiency in delivering exceptional customer service

Expertise in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and hiring candidates.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

Salary will be based on experience. We offer exceptional medical, dental and vision benefits.

$71,000 - $78,000 a year

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a valid California Driver's License.

Due to our in-person and in office work with LAUSD, City of LA, County of LA and other work partners that require our team to be vaccinated we require that all potential candidates must be COVID-19 vaccinated with either, Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.

WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND EQUIPMENT USED

The successful candidate will be required to report to and work from the office complex at least five days a week. Offices are traditionally equipped with computers, telephones, desks, chairs, and office machines. Additionally, each office offers an instructional classroom from which orientations and trainings are conducted.

SALARY RANGE:

Benefits and salary will be negotiated based on experience, education, and the needs of the program.
