PURPOSE OF POSITION:
A Social Case Worker I at Catholic Charities:
- Identifies clients who are eligible for benefits.
- Assists clients in the benefits application process.
- Monitors and assesses client progress towards identified goals.
- Refers and facilitates connection of participants to needed professional and human service agencies and initiates follow-up services as needed.
- Coordinates case conferences with agencies or persons involved with the participant's self-sufficiency efforts as necessary.
- Authorizes services of the organization based upon assessment of need and availability of resources.
- Maintains accurate case records; documents client contacts and progress in order to ensure accountability.
- Inputs required data information for statistical and monthly reports.
- Provides feedback on systemic barriers impeding the success of the household or program.
- Participates as a positive team member through communication, cooperation, information sharing and problem solving.
QualificationsQualifications- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from accredited four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual candidates preferred.
- Demonstrate strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply the basic theories and practices of counseling and social work, interviewing and assessment techniques, and professional reports and documents preparation.
- Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, other employees, organizations and the public are required.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:Salary: Starting at $23.00/hr + $1 for Bilingual
Schedule: Dependent on position, Our Women's Emergency Shelters are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Training: We provide a robust training curriculum that will support our employees throughout their career. Training provided within the first year of employment includes: De-escalation & Safety; Public Speaking; Mental Health First Aid; Substance Abuse & Mental Health; Human Trafficking; Trauma Informed Care; and many more.

- Extensive Paid Time Off including 15 Paid Holidays annually (4 weeks accrual for new employees - increasing yearly) promoting work life balance.
