Network AdministratorSinging River Health System Hospital - Pascagoula | Full-Time | Days |MississippiUnited StatesPosition OverviewThe Network Administrator maintains computing environment by planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and optimizing all network hardware and software. He/She diagnoses and resolves network problems in a timely and accurate manner. The Network Administrator assists and guides the Help Desk Technicians with desktop, laptop, mobile devices and printer support calls.The Network Administrator determines security requirements including, but not limited to: security plans, administering antivirus software and updates, firewall management, OS level patches and updates and reporting. He/She ensures database availability and system security, backups, access and policies; performs technical tasks required to deploy servers and other types of hardware and computer networks; assembles and updates documentation in the form of trouble ticket logs, network diagrams and monthly reports; provides technical assistance to internal and external customers; as well as coordinates with network service providers to resolve system outages.EducationAssociate's Degree in Information Technology (or similar degree) or applicable network administration experience required. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (or similar degree) preferred.LicenseN/ACertificationStandard IT industry certification(s) required, such as Microsoft, Citrix, Network+, Server+, and/or other relevant industry recognized certifications.May require certification in Epic Client Systems Administration - MyChart, MyChart Mobile, and EpicCare-Link. If required, must be certified at (or within 90 days of) job start.ExperienceOne (1) year IT experience required. A minimum of three (3) years' healthcare IT experience preferred. Experience with Windows Server Administration, Microsoft Exchange, and programming or scripting is preferred. Experience with SAN hardware and switches preferred.Physical DemandsWork is mainly sedentary: involves sitting most of the time with regular requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Work involves exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work involves using repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, copier, and 10-key.Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction; the ability to make fine discriminations in sound. Work requires close visual acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision.Must be able to be active for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue. Must be able to work flexible hours. Work requires employee participating in rotating "on-call" schedule with other members of the Epic Technical team. Lifting of heavy (up to 25 lbs) objects on a frequent basis.Mental DemandsJob requires maintaining a current working knowledge of hospital/clinical workflow and operations. Must possess keen mental faculties/assessments and decision making abilities in the management of information and clinical situations. Must demonstrate excellent communication / speaking / enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone. Must have the ability to maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with the application members of the team who may not be well versed in computer systems jargon. Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels associated with ongoing and changing needs of clinical areas as related to computer use.Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Must demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast paced environment and have the ability to work independently.Special DemandsMust demonstrate an understanding of workflows in order to design and execute software solutions that solve business problems. Must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio). Must demonstrate the ability to use operating system utilities and system editors (for example, vi for UNIX or EDT for VMS and Linux).Job requires traveling throughout the SRHS service area - with the employee providing his/her own transportation. Must have a valid driver license. Job requires out-of-state travel for education purposes.Must participate in rotating "on-call" schedule with other Network Administrators.
