Miller's Bakery Production Mixer is responsible for mixing large batches of product with the support of the Bakery Manager. The mixer assures that the highest quality of dough mixes are processed to specified standards. Assuring that the scheduled amount of dough is prepared for a production run and monitoring that sufficient ingredients are available for preparing the targeted batches.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Know correct mixing order. Must be accurate in mixing, dividing, shaping, proofing, and baking to ensure consistency in daily production
* Mix doughs correctly and weigh/measure accurately using scales
* Understand and follow all recipes and instructions as well as know the location of all ingredients
* Prepare and mix ingredients to specified mixing time and temperature
* Visually and physically verify the texture of the dough to assure targeted texture characteristics
* Follow production schedule
* Clean work areas, mixers and utensils
* Remove trash and recycling
* Ability to read and speak basic English
* Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner
* Continually monitor and control ingredient inventory control
* Must be 18 years or older
* Packaging baked goods for either retail or wholesale distribution in a secure, neat and presentable manner
* Helping inspect baked goods for quality
* Working as team with other coworkers to ensure efficiency
* Using safe food handling procedures
* Minimizing waste
* Ensuring that all work areas remain clean and organized
* Ensuring that all food products are stored properly
* Completing other duties as assigned
**Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)**
* Prior bakery or food service experience preferred but NOT necessary, we will provide on the job training
* Ability to follow recipes and pay attention to detail
* Tuesday to Saturday availability early AM to PM schedule
* Ability to multi-task in a fast paced bakery environment
* Ability to be constantly on your feet working in a high-energy environment
* Must be able to work in a team oriented environment
**Physical Demands and Work Environment**

Additionally, prepared product can weigh 75 pounds and ability to transfer product from mixing to production with assistance is needed for this position. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Work environment temperatures can vary due to cold rooms and baking ovens.
