Nyle s manufacturing and design operations are in Brewer and Bangor, Maine.

Job Description:

Nyle is looking for a Refrigeration Design Engineer. Examples of projects that you may be working on:

  • Design of heat pumps for water heating; high temperature industrial drying and steam applications working with leading edge components and refrigerants.
  • Monitor developments in CO2 and R290 and other refrigerants and lead new product development in these areas when applicable.
  • Value engineer our products to reduce costs while increasing versatility and reliability.
  • Train junior engineers to increase their capabilities in heat pump product design.

Initially your responsibilities will include:

  • Design products for optimal and reliable performance in a cost effective way.
  • Understand the test and certification requirements such as UL/CSA/CE; DOE; Energy Star and support the team in testing and optimizing systems.
  • Identify vendors of critical components and source parts.
  • Support the sales force with technical back-up and development of quotes.
  • Interact with customers (internal and external) on new and ongoing projects, product design and service

Job Requirements and qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years or more experience in design of HVAC / heat pump / refrigeration products.
  • At least a bachelor s degree in ME, preferably with experience/specialization in refrigeration technology, thermodynamics / psychrometrics. GPA 3.0 or better.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, results driven and high energy.
  • Team player with independent thinking mindset.
  • Based in Bangor / Brewer, ME
