Champaign County Animal Control is seeking applicants for the position of full time Clerk/Kennel Worker. This position performs a wide variety of clerical duties involved in processing dog registrations, provides administrative support in the administration of the Animal Control Act and Champaign County Animal Control Ordinance and is responsible for intake of impounded animals including the classifying, care, and handling of those animals. This position is responsible for data entry, answering incoming phone calls, providing customer service for incoming customers, cleaning and maintaining the kennel area and feeding and providing daily care for all animals in the County's care. Candidates are required to have the ability to handle several different species of animals. Candidates must be able to lift 100 lbs. and work standing at times. Ideal candidates will have 1-3 years' experience working with animals.
Starting pay for this position is $16.44 per hour. Champaign County offers a competitive benefits package, including paid time off, health insurance, life insurance and employer contributions to a defined-benefit retirement plan.
