Job Details

  • Process purchase orders for approved internal requisitions as well as Government initiated Order Requests. A knowledge of and working experience in using FARS/DFARS regulations regarding procurement and contracts is helpful.
  • Negotiate with vendors and establish agreements/contracts; review agreements/contracts/terms and conditions to assess risk factors and prepare required internal risk assessment forms; fully document all purchase orders to support future audit of records; obtain certificate of insurance or other certifications when required to support service type orders; etc.
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance for ISO/CMMI compliance audits.
  • Develop and issue Request for Quotations or Request for Proposals which shall include working in secure computer network as required; obtain vendor responses to RFQ/RFP; create summary of quotes received with details; working with internal customers as well as with suppliers to answer questions that may arise; etc.
  • Establish and maintain good standing vendor relationships. Follow up and expedite orders based on time sensitive needs and solve problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Use electronic systems to conduct business transactions, compile vendor information, and create various reports.
  • Work in a team environment as may be required and complete all assigned individual tasks as necessary for time sensitive material/service orders.
  • Proficient in using MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe, Outlook, and SharePoint as well as researching the internet.
  • Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Purchasing Job Description

Duties:
  • You will review purchase requests for adequate item descriptions and pricing, proper authorizations, ensure sufficient funding, and other special approvals to ensure compliance with current procurement regulations and policies.
  • You will provide written data/documentation with explanations for rejection and the corrective action required of customer when requirements are lacking.
  • You will research, evaluate, and select vendors corresponding to best pricing and availability to fulfill various customer Purchase Requests following all required approvals. Additional Internet research may be required for comparable alternative sources if the current vendor cannot fulfill the requested order.
  • You will analyze proposals for conformance with the specifications and terms and conditions of the solicitation and compliance.
  • You will prepare an accurate and complete contract document and contract file, ensure that the appropriate clauses and special provisions are incorporated.
