Richard Heath & Associates, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and talented professional for the following opportunity in a remote location within the state of CA:

AutoCAD Designer

Full-time, non-exempt

We are looking for an AutoCAD Designer who will assist in designing installations and obtain building permits to comply with the California Electrical Code and specific County and City requirements. This will include preparation of an electrical schematic drawing, a plan view of the expected installation location, a title page, and various documentation required by the City or the County. The position entails being able to communicate effectively on technical subjects with City and County administrative personnel, plan checkers, inspectors, engineers, and other City and County employees. Incumbents must have the aptitude to research, read, and understand electrical and administrative codes, standards, and regulations as well as have basic computer aided drafting knowledge and experience with AutoCad or other .dwg compatible software.

Ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field or commensurate experience.

• Basic knowledge of residential electrical systems.

• Ability to use AutoCAD or other compatible computer aided drafting software.

• Familiarity with and ability to use computer and web-based systems.

• Two years of work experience preferable in an engineering capacity or doing technical work.

• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals with a background in at least basic electrical principles, material and methods.

• Basic knowledge of construction and building code requirements.

• Strong analytical and technical writing abilities with high attention to detail and accuracy.

• Experience using AutoCad or similar program.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to read and understand construction plans, electrical schematics, and visual tools such as Google Earth Pro.

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
