Investment Banking Vice President | Semiconductors


Job Details

Selby Jennings with partnering with an Elite boutique Investment Bank globally renowned for their Tech M&A practice. This team is comprised seasoned Investment Bankers covering Semiconductors, Software, and Internet, and looking for an Investment Banking Vice President to play a pivotal role in transaction execution.


Ideal candidates are current Technology focused IB VPs in Bulge Bracket, Elite Boutiques, or Middle Market Investment Banks, with 4-8 years of Investment Banking experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deal Origination: Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients, including semiconductor companies, private equity firms, and other stakeholders, to generate M&A opportunities.
  2. Transaction Execution: Lead end-to-end execution of semiconductor M&A transactions, including conducting due diligence, financial modeling, valuation analysis, negotiation, and structuring of deals.
  3. Client Advisory: Provide strategic advice and insights to clients regarding potential M&A opportunities, market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory considerations.
  4. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including senior management, investment banking professionals, legal advisors, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless execution of transactions and delivery of superior client service.
  5. Industry Research: Stay abreast of developments in the semiconductor industry, including technological advancements, market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes, to inform investment decisions and client strategies.
  6. Team Leadership: Mentor and coach junior team members, providing guidance on deal execution, industry analysis, and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-8 years of experience in investment banking, with a focus on semiconductor M&A transactions.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing semiconductor M&A deals, including buy-side and sell-side transactions.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial databases.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, senior management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to identify and evaluate M&A opportunities, assess risks, and develop creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience in managing deal teams and guiding junior professionals.
  • Deep understanding of the semiconductor industry, including key players, market dynamics, technological trends, and regulatory environment.
