Are you a dedicated and compassionate nurse looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students? We are seeking a Part-Time School Nurse (RN or LPN) to join our team to provide essential healthcare support in elementary, middle, and high schools across Carbon County, PA. This role will primarily focus on coverage for school field trips and in-school nursing rooms on an hourly or as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Trip Coverage: Ensure the safety and well-being of students during off-campus field trips, offering immediate medical assistance when necessary.
- In-School Nursing Room: Administer first aid, medication, and basic healthcare services to students with various health needs in a school setting.
- Health Education: Collaborate with teachers and staff to promote health education and wellness programs within the school community.
- Health Records: Maintain accurate and confidential student health records, including immunizations, medications, and treatment plans.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies promptly and efficiently while adhering to school policies and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with school administrators, teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for students.
RequirementsQualifications: - Current RN (Registered Nurse) or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a passion for working with children.
- Ability to adapt to various healthcare needs and situations.
- Prior experience in a school or pediatric healthcare setting preferred but not required.
