Job Summary

The Stockroom Clerk is responsible for the organization, implementation and maintenance of stockroom, including data entry, and other duties as they relate to inventory control of supplies in the stockroom. Candidate requires a good understanding of computers, hardware, software and computer based inventory systems. Individual must have a general or basic knowledge of equipment repair parts and the needs subsequent to a manufacturing storeroom expectation.

Specific Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Must have a good working understanding of computer based inventory system. Directly responsible for the organization and maintenance of the stockroom including stocking, requisitioning and receipt of parts, organization of stock and tooling. Responsible for the physical maintenance of the computer based inventory system. These duties include implementation of new software, data entry, generation of reports, helping system users with training, assistance in resolving hardware and software issues. Job requires a valid driver's license for the purpose of part pickups and deliveries in the Company truck. Must have working knowledge of shipping and receiving requirements and procedures. Maintains housekeeping of all assigned areas as required by Good Manufacturing Practices. Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor "No Injuries Safety Contract" and as trained. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and Supervisors. Properly uses all required personal protective equipment. Performs other related duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager to insure the smooth and orderly operation of finished product movement in the area assigned.

Authorization

  • Those employees with authorized training. Have the ability to shut down / stop equipment if continued operation is a threat to any employee's health and safety.
  • Recommend Staff stop production for unacceptable quality
  • Recommend Staff quarantine out-of-specification products, materials or supplies
  • Contact any member of Management without fear of reprisal concerning questions, suggestions, or complaints regarding quality, working conditions or job environment


Job Specifications and Requirements

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Previous manufacturing work experience is preferred

Successfully achieved Machine Operator II skills

Physical Requirements: This is a medium physical demand job

Lift / push / pull up to 1000 pounds 50 feet using a hydraulic hand jack (this is the equivalent of a static push / pull of approximately 70 pounds).

Occasional frequency lifting weight of 75 pounds from ground to 4 feet overhead.

Rare frequency carrying weight of 75 pounds for 5 feet.

Employees are required to occasionally bend; turn / twist; kneel; squat; crawl; climb; reach out and up; turn wrist; grasp; pinch; and have finger manipulations.

Required Safety Equipment:

Employees are required to continuously wear hearing and eye protection, as well as protective clothing including steel toe shoes.

Environmental Factors:

Continuous noise of 85dB

Occasional exposure to chemicals

Occasional exposure to dust / fumes / gas

Other Requirements:

Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values. This includes entering information into an on-line database accurately.

Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions / judgement calls based on the situation at hand.
