Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Research Assistant, Data Support at its Detroit campus location.

Position Purpose:

To support data ingestion, mapping, and output for Biorepositories as well as clinical studies and registries in Cloud research environments for single/multisite research projects conducted at the Wayne State University Translational Science and Clinical Research Innovation Program.

Essential Functions:

Support Data ingestion, mapping, and output for Biorepositories as well as clinical studies and registries in Cloud research environments for single/multisite research projects.

Generate data reports as requested.

Create, update, and maintain all components of regulatory in the university clinical research management software inclusive of but not limited to Oncore.

Prepare, process, and ship specimens/samples accurately under well-defined requirements of Food and Drug Administration (FDA), National Institute of Health (NIH), and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines/regulations.

Serve as support for all research studies conducted in Cloud environments.

Creates, monitors, and maintains research database builds for university wide investigators that require research Good Clinical Practice (GCP) data forms.

Implement upgrades for the Cloud Primarily Good Clinical Practice (GCP) research data analytic tools.

Manages and define requirements for Cloud research databases.

Train new users on Google Cloud Platform use for research data.

Integrate Cloud research analytic tools with Oncore Electronic Data Capture (EDC) /REDCap research data and provide guidance on research support based on project needs.

Duties may include but are not limited to creation and maintenance of clinical studies, report building, registry creation, data extraction, data ingestion, data management and data transfer for research grants/publications.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required.

Master's degree in Computer Science preferred.

Experience: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience).

Experience in Clinical Research Database.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certified strong understanding of research regulations with respect to data management and the clinical research process.

Experience in data ingestion, data mapping and data reporting.

Experience developing and maintaining research data Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Excellent command of the English language with strong communication skills, familiarity with scientific and/or medical terminology.

Excellent writing skills.

Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.

Experience working in Biorepository Software.

Proficient in computer software utilization Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Access) Python, C, Oracle, Structured Query Language (SQL), Microsoft Office, Citrix, applications.

Comfortable working with and learning new software.
