Woodgrain Company, is seeking a qualified candidate to join our warehouse team. With a vast selection of some of the industry's top building products and millwork- including doors, windows, columns, decking, and more- we provide our dealers with top-of-the-line products from the best supplier brands in the country.

The Assembler I position is responsible for assembling and fabricating the prepared components required to construct a pre-hung door unit. Two main components of the job are preparing the components for assembly and then assembling the unit in accordance to the specification provided on the work ticket.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials or merchandise for assembly line production by reading provided tickets that identify materials needed; gather prescribed materials from stock using forklifts, hand trucks, and rolling carts.
  • Place materials in designated area for assembly.
  • Assemble various millwork products such as exterior and interior door units, wooden patios, dutch doors, casing, and window units by reading orders.
  • Identify necessary modifications; operate machinery that modifies the product; prepare the product for shipment by applying casing, sleeves, stickers, etc.
  • Inspect the overall quality of assembled product throughout the assembly process.
  • Repair and/or disassemble defective millwork to prepare it for resale or restock.
  • Maintain a clear production area free of debris; properly store and secure work materials, hardware, tools, and equipment.
  • Attend all safety trainings and meetings; comply with OSHA and agency safety policies.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all tools used including: cleaning, oiling, checking to ensure proper functioning, calibrating machines, checking measuring tool accuracy, and notifying a supervisor of larger repairs or malfunctions.
  • Willing and able to be cross-trained to handle all stations along the line.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such a forklift, chop saw, door machine, and drill
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a safe work environment
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move 75-100 pounds
