Job Summary:


At The Print Shop Restaurant we focus on Community and Relationship. As a Host or Hostess at our restaurant and bar, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. Your warm welcome,Ability to Present yourself, organization skills, and ability to manage guest flow will contribute to creating a positive and inviting atmosphere. Your role will be essential in ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction.


Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Guest Reception:


- Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor as they arrive at the restaurant.


- Manage the waiting list and provide accurate wait time estimates to guests.


2. Seating and Table Assignments:


- Seat guests promptly according to the seating rotation and table availability.


- Assign tables strategically to ensure balanced distribution among servers.


3. Reservations and Waiting Lists:


- Manage reservations and ensure accurate recording of guest details,and communicating important details to management and the server.


- Maintain an organized and updated waiting list during peak hours.


4. Guest Inquiries:


- Provide guests with information about the restaurant, menu offerings, and any specials.


- Address questions and assist with any inquiries or concerns.


5. Waiting Area and Lobby Maintenance:


- Keep the waiting area clean, organized, and visually appealing.


- Ensure guests have a comfortable space while waiting for their tables.


6. Communication and Coordination:


- Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to manage guest flow and table turnover.


- Inform servers of newly seated guests and special requests.


7. Special Requests and Accommodations:


- Accommodate special seating requests, high chairs, and other guest needs.


- Communicate any special occasions or preferences to the appropriate staff.


8. Guest Interaction:


- Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with guests.


- Manage difficult situations or guest complaints with diplomacy and grace.


9. Reservation Management:


- Confirm reservations, manage cancellations, and adjust table assignments as needed.

- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.


- Ability to stand, walk for extended periods.


- Ability to carry 50 lbs up and down stairs.


- Knowledge of food and beverage menus.


- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.


- Able to work weekends and holidays.


- Team player with a positive attitude.
