Shift Type All Job Type Seasonal/Sessional Date Posted By 5/31/2021 Date Posting Closes 12/31/2021 Time Posting Closes: 5:00 p.m. Category Facility Services Career Level Entry Level Education Some High School Salary Payband/Range $18.39 - $19.51 Job Description Responsible for cleaning and general housekeeping of town facilities, facility set up and tear down for user groups and events; maintenance and repair work, efficient plant operation of arenas, building cleanliness, garbage removal, washroom maintenance, ice making, equipment inspection and record keeping duties. Provides assistance and customer service to general public and user groups.

Job Requirements 1. Practical working knowledge of health and safety regulations and trained in WHIMIS procedures to deal with equipment, cleaning chemicals and facility maintenance.

2. Ability to operate arena maintenance equipment including ice resurfacing equipment for arena assignments.

3. Formal academic training in municipal arena and/or pool facility operation or equivalent is preferred for arena assignments.

4. Janitorial knowledge and the ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor waxers, scrubbers, cleaning chemicals etc.).

5. Ability to read and comprehend WHIMIS labels, complete logs and incident reports.

6. Current First Aid and CPR training would be an asset.

7. Flexibility/availability for shift work, weekends and evenings.

8. Flexibility/availability for special events as required.

9. Class G Drivers license in good standing.

10. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with user groups, general public, program participants.
