Job Responsibilities

Midlands Technical College is a public, multi-campus, two-year public college serving the primary region of Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties of South Carolina that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates.   • Under limited supervision, the Procurement Specialist will perform complex procurement duties for the College's Procurement Department. Will review and process purchase orders, up to $25,000, for supplies, services and equipment in accordance to the governing procurement code.
  • Will serve as bid clerk for the Procurement Department. Will serve as the MMO Quarterly Reporting Coordinator for the College. Will provide end user procurement training to College personnel.
  • Will serve as the primary contact for vendor registration and vendor file management. Will assist with resolving order discrepancies and vendor disputes.

This position is located on the Airport Campus in the Procurement department.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; or, an associate's degree in a related field plus two (2) years related work experience; or, high school diploma plus four (4) years related work experience. Prior state government experience and operational knowledge of the South Carolina Consolidated Procurement Code is preferred.
