Job Description:

  • PURPOSE OF JOB : To perform, under the responsibility and management of the supervising physician, through diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional tasks to allow the physician to extend his/her services through the more effective use of his/her knowledge in the sphere of decision-making required to establish diagnosis and to plan therapy. He/she may assist in gathering the data necessary in implementing the therapeutic plan of the physician. A major role will be working alongside our Electrophysiologists to help diagnose and treat patients with abnormal heart rhythms while acting as a patients advocate in the medical care system serving as confidant, advisor and liaison between patients and physicians .
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
  • Provide care to cardiac patients and assist cardiologists during outpatient clinic visits, hospital rounding and within the device clinic.
  • D iagnose and treat complex medical problems with the primary focus being Electrophysiology.
  • D iagnose and treat urgent / emergent conditions.
  • Order, collect and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
  • P rescribe medications or devices
  • All other clinical procedures/duties as approved required
Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS :

A. Education: Bachelor of Science degree in a physical science from an accredited institution required.

Must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program.

Must complete course of training for BLS and ACLS

Must be: A Pennsylvania licensed NP/PA, and a board certified or board eligible NP

B.Experience: Two years recent experience in cardiology preferred.

E. Computer Skills:
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation within an EHR system (E-clinical Works and Meditech preferred)
  • Knowledge of working experience with computer systems and applications
F. Other licensure required:
  • NP/PA prescriptive authority
  • DEA registration for schedule 2,3,4,and 5 narcotics
