Development Manager (Columbus, OH)At Fugees Family, we re on a mission to advance educational justice for refugee students and English Language Learners. We re a team of advocates, change-makers and allies and are looking for another passionate addition to join our close-knit team.The Position:Fugees Family is seeking a high-performing, resourceful Development Manager to maximize fundraising revenue and improve the impact of the organization s communications and outreach as we continue to experience significant national growth. This is a full time position based in Columbus, OH.Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO), the Development Manager will be responsible for the operations of grant management and fundraising. This includes prioritizing data integrity, improvement and analysis, donor stewardship and cultivation, database and website integration, and payment portal management to maximize fundraising revenue and improve the impact of the organization s communications and outreach.Key Responsibilities:Grants Management & Donor Relations (50%)Coordinate grant applications and reporting, including collecting and reviewing dataUpdate and maintain an ongoing Grants Calendar, ensuring that both internal and external deadlines are met in a timely mannerAssist CAO and Grants Team to research funding opportunities and write proposalsCreate and maintain grant files that meet legal, auditing, and foundation requirementsProvide timely and professional response to inquiries regarding grant status, compliance, procedures, and future opportunitiesWork with Communications Team to design individual giving campaigns and fundraising materialsManage the donor communications schedule and design customized donor journeys with automation and integration across systems to increase efficiencyPrepare personalized donor acknowledgements and steward relationshipsIdentify, mine, and analyze prospects for fundraisingTrack and report on fundraising progress and donor trendsWork with CAO and CEO to keep them informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities and prepare updates for them to present to the Board of Directors and external partnersAssist with special projects and other general tasks as assignedDatabase Management (50%)Maintain the overall database integrity and quality, including routine data improvement, data auditing, practice enforcement, security and code value management, systems checks, and database functionsRegularly update donor information and other fundraising-related dataOversee gift processing and check deposits, batch entry, donation coding, prepare back-up gift documentation, approve matching and employee contribution campaign gifts, and make adjustmentsManage records and donor relations for monthly donor and other pledge programsDevelop and maintain lists for direct appeals, email campaigns, publications, events, and ad hoc projectsReview daily, weekly, and monthly reports for accurate reconciliationAssess and implement other technology-based solutions for fundraising, marketing, and communications and providing fundraising related webpagesIdentify opportunities for systems integration for improved data quality, reduced data entry, and increased cross-departmental collaborationEssential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:Bachelor s degree required2+ years of experience in a nonprofit fundraising, marketing, or sales environmentPrevious experience successfully managing databases and web-based systemsExperience with data import/export, queries, and designing and generating reports from a databaseAbility to work with both technical and non-technical usersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and discipline to organize, prioritize, and complete projects expeditiously, proactively, and often with short deadlinesIndependent, innovative, and motivated by equity-centered resultsAbility to manage detailed projects with tight timelinesStrong work ethic, positive attitude, willing to roll up your sleeves to get things doneAbility to adapt to changing priorities in a high-paced and dynamic environmentCommitment to learning and growing from feedbackDiplomacy and sensitivity to different cultural situationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCollaborative, asset-based approach when interacting with colleagues and the communityA belief that all students can learn at high levels and should be held to high academic standardsCommitment to values of integrity, collaboration, humility with passion for the Fugees missionCitizenship, residency or work VISA in the United States requiredPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of basic fundraising processes and experience with donor relations preferredElectronic communications for marketing and sales also highly applicableExperience with grants management is a plusExperience with donor and project management softwares (Virtuous, Salesforce, Asana a plus)Salary range: $45,000-$50,000More about Fugees Family:Fugees Family is a non-profit organization and operator of the only network of U.S. schools dedicated to refugee education.
