**2nd Shift Packer**

Packing Forest Lake, Minnesota Minimum Experience **Entry-level** $2,000.00 Bonus = $1,000 after 90 days and $1,000 after 1 year

Position Overview

The Packer is responsible for packaging horseshoes for shipment to customers. This role is responsible for checking the shoes for quality specifications such as inspecting nail holes and finish, checking for sharp edges, and ensuring that overall horseshoe is complete. Additionally, this position is key in assuring the product is packaged to meet customer requirements and achieve

customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions (required duties and responsibilities)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Perform all duties safely keeping safety in mind at all times

Locate shoes to be packaged and move tub to lifting device

Scan appropriate paperwork for label preparation

Pick up shoes and fill box while checking shoes for quality

Push full box through the Case Sealer and Labeler until the conveyor is full

Palletize sealed boxes from conveyor by hand or with vacuum lift to pallet

Remove empty tub from the lift and vacuum it out

Perform hand grinding

Feed the time saver grinder

Load boxes into the case erector

Replace/refill tape and label rolls into case erector and labeler

Return tub to staging area in production

Assist with Clip Packaging

Assist with packing shoes on the retail packaging line

Perform other duties as requested

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent

Fluent in English both verbal and written

Computer literate

Desirable Skills/Attributes (preferred but not required)

Experience working in a packaging

Fluent in Spanish both verbal and written

Forklift certification

Physical Demands

Must have the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, the position is performed while standing/walking

Must have the ability to reach, grasp, and handle objects frequently

Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally

Must be able to pull up to 40 pounds and push up to 60 pounds

Work Environment

The employee works in a factory environment where it is sometimes hot and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. Individuals are frequently exposed to

fumes or airborne particles and will work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is loud. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided.
