Schedule: 10-12 24 hr shifts required, shifts vary

The Procurement Transplant Coordinator I position allows an individual who may be interested in a career in organ and tissue procurement to become proficient in the protocols and procedures of LOH organ and tissue procurement programs. The PTC 1 learns to facilitate all portions of the organ donation process including referral response, evaluation for suitability, obtaining authorization, performing donor management, organ evaluation and allocation, recovery, and kidney perfusion. The position allows a person on-the-job training until proficiency is obtained.

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: Must possess qualifications for one of the following: CRT or RRT, LPN, RN, or PA or prior experience as a procurement transplant coordinator for a minimum of 12 months at another organ procurement organization. Public speaking and good interpersonal skills required. Limited travel will be necessary.

Preferred:

LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:

Required: Current licensure/certification as required by professional organizations in area that employee is degreed (CRT, RRT, LPN, RN, PA) or work experience as a procurement transplant coordinator in another organ procurement organization can substitute for licensure requirement. Current certification of BCLS and/or ACLS completion from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. If hired, employee must obtain CPTC certification within 24 months of hire.

Preferred: Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC)
