Based in Washington DC and with offices in New York City, Toronto, London, and Tampa, HarrisX runs the Mobile Insights (wireless focused) and Total Communication Surveys (TV/broadband/voice focused) and an array of other connected consumer surveys resulting in the largest syndicated TMT-focused consumer trackers in the U.S Along with this syndicated work, HarrisX offers clients a full suite of both custom qualitative and quantitative market research, polling, and data science services. HarrisX also studies mobile behaviors through its Telephia.io behavioral data application, which captures actual smartphone usage and consumer behavior data.

Overview:

The Director of Syndicated Research is a critical, client facing position responsible for helping to manage the relationship and develop consumer insights for the top Technology, Telecom & Media companies based on the HarrisX syndicated consumer insights data repository.

In this position will work closely with and report to the VP account lead to service client accounts on both syndicated and custom needs. You will be responsible for maintaining quality and timeliness while continuing to improve efficiency and insights. You will help to build stronger and more consultative relationships with clients which will lead to increased client satisfaction and engagement.

Responsibilities :
- Direct (or produce) syndicated work products and insights for account lead review this includes ongoing monthly/quarterly reports as well as ad hoc requests and custom research projects
- For custom work, develop first pass of questionnaire for review; manage flow of work through the system to reporting of results with guidance from VP
- Look for higher level insights/trends across projects and deliverables and support VP and marketing, as needed, to produce examples for sales pitches or client summaries; develop story lines
- Present/walk through results with clients discuss implications and next steps
- Keep abreast of industry developments to bolster client recommendations and provide actionable insights (when possible); grow in capabilities to hold your own as a client strategic advisor
- Be the last stop for quality control before deliverables go out to client; adapt the HX QC list to your own clients as part of this process, and hold all team members (internal and external) accountable
- Manage the calendar of monthly and quarterly deliverables and share with clients
- Provide clients with updated questionnaires/content on a quarterly basis for their syndicated deliverables
- Assess scope of requests, determine timing and how best to accomplish
- Communicate with the client: clarification of what is needed, timing
- Develop a process for completion of the request if it is large, allowing time for final VP or CEO review
- Manage the ad hoc request workflow this will at times require DIY in SPSS and PowerPoint but ideally more often will be roughing out the work for the team and/or off shore resources to complete prior to analysis
- Maintain the time spent spreadsheets to keep track/advise VP where we are relative to budget
- (Once comfortable) Help to on-board new individual clients
- Direct analysts and off-shore team to produce monthly/quarterly/ad hoc deliverables
- Mentor/train analysts to grow/develop their skill sets in assessing the tasks requested, building the syntax/running the data; storytelling and charting
- Assess each individuals capabilities, perform goal setting and performance review based on job requirements and his/her/their personal goals
- Assist with and sometimes lead product development efforts across the company to enhance our ability to bring our clients closer to the data and make the data more actionable
- Assist with and sometimes lead business development and thought leadership initiatives

Qualifications:
- You love data and telling a story with data.
- You love solving varied business problems with data to support your recommendations.
- You have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience with data analysis and project management. Direct client experience preferred.
- You have strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS (XML, R, Python, or other statistical software packages a plus)
- While you know the big picture, you have high attention to detail.
- You have the ability to work independently and take ownership of obligations.
- You are able to perform in a team, use judgment and operate under ambiguity.
- You have prior professional knowledge of Survey methodologies, best practices, and calculations.
- You have a history of applying best practices in data science, statistical weighting, and data delivery and visualization.
- You have previous top-tier consulting experience in companies including but not limited to Ipsos/Kantar/GfK/Neilsen/or Equivalent or McKinsey/BCG/Bain/Deloitte/or Equivalent
